clutch NOT pulled when pushing backwards! if you pull the clutch you won't turn the engine when pushing the bike and that's the trick!
it's like turning the engine backwards to the point where it starts compressing the air (neither TDC nor 180°degrees from that)
so once more:
put in 1st gear
pull backwards
pull clutch and run like hell
jump on bike and let clutch snap at the same time
